An online option for giving

Just checking out Cornestone? We're not after your money. This page is for the congregation and friends of Cornerstone who believe in the ministry and want to participate through their financial support.

Invest in transforming lives! Support the ministry of Cornerstone Community Church with a one-time gift or schedule ongoing contributions.

Now there's an online option for contributing to the ministry of Cornerstone. Giving online through eGive is safe and secure. Through eGive you can make a one-time donation or schedule ongoing support. All you need is a checking account. Change the amount or frequency at any time. You're in control. Click on the eGive link to see more.

The benefits of eGiving

  1. You're committing to fulfill your good intentions. Most of us want to give regularly but busyness, absences and distractions frustrate our good intentions.
  2. You'll simplify your life. Your giving is automatically deposited on the schedule and date you decide. No writing a check, remembering to bring it, or sending it to church if you miss.
  3. You have complete flexibility. Contribute whenever and wherever you want. Make a one-time gift or schedule recurring gifts. Set the schedule you desire: weekly, monthly, twice monthly, etc. Stop, start, or change the schedule or amount any time. With eGive you're in control.
  4. You're exercising your faith. By scheduling your contributions, you're deciding in advance to give.
  5. You're helping the church. Counting, depositing and tracking donations is easier with online contributions. Scheduled contributions help with budgeting and planning.

eGiving questions answered

Q: I click eGive link and nothing happens; what's wrong?
When you click an eGive link, a new browser window is opened. If you are using a pop-up blocker such as the Google Toolbar, Norton Internet Security, or Pop-Up Stopper, the window will not open. Most tools will allow you to permit pop-ups on a specific web site. In order to use eGive, you will need to allow pop-ups within CornerstoneNH.org.

Q: Can I test this by giving one time?
Yes. You may test online giving by selecting "One-Time Gift" in the Giving Amount and Date section of eGive.

Q: When would this automatic contribution be charged to my account?
Whenever you like. On the signup screens, you can specify whether you want your contribution made one time, weekly, twice per month, monthly, quarterly, or yearly. Weekly contributions are made on Fridays. If the date you have selected falls on a weekend or holiday, the transaction will occur on the next business day. You can set up as many schedules as you would like, so it's possible to give a monthly gift as well as a weekly one.

Q: How can I keep track of the amount I have contributed?
eGive will send a confirmation email to acknowledge your gift. Your bank statement will include an itemized list of automatic gifts given from your account. Cornerstone will continue to provide you with a personal giving statement for your tax records detailing all online and other giving. Most checkbook software like Quicken allows for automatic entry into your register of recurring transactions.

Q: Can I give using my credit or debit card?
No. We chose to set up eGiving through Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) rather than credit card for two primary reasons:

  1. Credit card processing is much more expensive. Per transaction fees would divert as much as 3% of your gift to the credit card company.
  2. We wouldn't want the potential of a person accumulating debt or paying credit card interest on gifts to the church . Although many pay off their credit cards each month or use debit cards that immediately withdraw the money from an account, that is not always the case. EFT seems the best way to encourage good stewardship in the church and the people of the church.

Q: Are electronic contributions risky?
No. An electronic contribution is safer than writing a check, and it can't be lost, stolen or destroyed in the mail. To sign up for eGive you are only giving information that is already printed on your check. National laws, rules, and guidelines govern all Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) transactions. Over four billion EFT transactions are processed annually in the United States.
